Warranty FAQ
Warranty FAQ
When does the warranty start?
On the delivery date of the part, as indicated by the carrier or delivery service. The exact duration is written on your invoice and prevails at all times.
How long does it last?
3 months or 5,000 km, 6 months or 10,000 km, 12 months or 20,000 km, whichever comes first. The coverage you bought (parts only, or parts and labour) is shown on your invoice.
What if the vehicle is used for work?
Any commercial use is capped at 30 days, without exception: taxi, Uber, delivery, towing, fleet vehicles, company vehicles, any professional or intensive use.
What is covered?
Engine: engine block, cylinder head(s), pistons, crankshaft, camshaft(s), rocker arms, oil pump and head gasket.
Transmission: transmission case, internal assemblies (gears, shafts, drums, planetary gear sets), internal clutches and friction discs, torque converter if it is included in the sale, internal pump, valve body.
What is not covered?
Accessories and peripheral components, towing charges and vehicle rental, any direct or indirect loss.
Engine: crankshaft seals, camshaft seals and all other seals (other than the head gasket).
Transmission: transmission oil and fluid.
With a parts-only warranty: labour time and mechanic fees.
My warranty includes labour: what is reimbursed?
Reimbursement follows the most restrictive of three caps: maximum $50 per hour, maximum 100 % of the part price shown on the original invoice (excluding core charge, taxes and shipping), and the number of hours allowed by the applicable Mitchell schedule for that replacement. Any work must be authorized in writing before it starts, and the invoice must come from a registered mechanical repair shop. Not reimbursed: initial diagnosis, reprogramming, preventive maintenance, towing and vehicle rental.
How do I make a claim?
Immobilize the vehicle immediately to prevent further damage, then email support@bifco.shop with your invoice number. Also provide the VIN, the licence plate, the name, phone number and address of the shop that performed the installation, the installation date, the mileage at installation and the current mileage, a detailed description of the problem, diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) if any, and anything already checked or repaired. A Bifco technician then verifies that the mandatory installation procedure was followed. For a transmission, you can also go through your sales representative.
What voids the warranty?
Any repair, removal or disassembly done without our prior written authorization; the part being opened, modified or dismantled, for any reason; a vehicle modified to increase performance; overheating, lack of oil or loss of oil pressure (engine); overheating, insufficient fluid level, contaminated fluid or inadequate fluid pressure (transmission); the mandatory installation procedure not being followed, including the mandatory follow-up after 1,500 km.
Is there a cash refund?
No. No refund: exchange only. With a parts-only warranty, the maximum amount covered cannot exceed 100 % of the purchase price of the part.
