Bifco Engine Warranty Policy
This warranty policy applies to engines sold by Bifco. It does not limit in any way the rights and remedies provided by applicable laws in Quebec, including the Consumer Protection Act.
Important notice: warranty start date and commercial use
The warranty begins automatically on the delivery date of the engine, as indicated by the carrier or delivery person.
Any engine installed in a commercial vehicle automatically benefits from a maximum warranty of thirty 30 days, without exception, whether it is a new or used engine.
Commercial use includes, but is not limited to
• taxi
• Uber
• delivery services
• towing
• vehicle fleet
• company vehicle
• any professional or heavy-duty use
Warranty duration
For non-commercial vehicles personal use only
New engines
• Warranty of six 6 to twelve 12 months depending on applicable sales conditions
Used engines
• Three (3) month warranty included automatically, extendable up to twelve (12) months depending on applicable sales conditions
The exact duration of the warranty is indicated on the invoice and prevails at all times.
Warranty coverage for new and used engines
Covered parts
• Engine block
• Cylinder head or heads
• Pistons
• Crankshaft
• Camshaft or camshafts
• Rocker arms
• Oil pump
• Internal seals and gaskets including cylinder head crankshaft and camshafts
Parts and expenses not covered
• All accessories and peripheral components including manifolds water pump sensors and electronic components
• Towing fees
• Vehicle rental
• Labour time and mechanic fees
• Any direct or indirect loss
Important notes
• The installer must check or replace as needed the timing belt water pump thermostat and any other related component not covered by the warranty
• No claim will be accepted in the event of engine overheating lack of oil or loss of oil pressure
Mandatory installation procedure
For the warranty to be valid all the following steps must be followed
• Identify and correct the cause of failure of the original engine
• Compare the engine received with the one being replaced and verify the compatibility of all accessories
• Apply an appropriate sealant such as blue Loctite on the flywheel bolts
• Adjust the belts with moderate tension in accordance with manufacturer specifications
• Install a new thermostat a new PCV valve and new O2 sensors
• Fill with a compliant quality antifreeze with an adequate pH and completely bleed the system
• Crank the engine without spark plugs to eliminate excess oil
• Add the oil recommended by the manufacturer and pre-fill the oil filter
• Install an oil pressure gauge and prime the oil pump with the ignition off
• Check the exhaust system including the catalytic converter to avoid any excessive back pressure
• Check and adjust the timing before the road test
• Drain the oil and antifreeze from the removed core engine
• Schedule a mandatory follow-up after one thousand five hundred 1,500 kilometres
• No warranty applies if the engine is opened modified or disassembled for any reason
• The warranty is also void if the vehicle is modified to increase performance including but not limited to any reprogramming mechanical or electronic modification
Procedure in case of a problem after installation
• Contact your Bifco seller immediately with the invoice number
• A Bifco technician will confirm compliance with the installation procedure
• No claim will be accepted without prior written authorization from Bifco
• The warranty does not include any related expenses including towing vehicle rental labour or any direct or indirect loss
• The maximum amount covered cannot exceed one hundred percent 100 percent of the purchase price of the engine
• No refunds. Exchange only
TRANSMISSION WARRANTY PARTS ONLY
This warranty policy applies to transmissions sold by Bifco. It does not limit in any way the rights and remedies provided by applicable laws in Quebec, including the Consumer Protection Act.

Any transmission installed in a commercial vehicle automatically benefits from a maximum warranty of thirty 30 days, without exception, whether it is a new or used transmission.

• Torque converter if included in the sale

• All accessories and peripheral components including external sensors wiring harnesses mounts cables transmission cooler and lines
• Transmission oil and fluid
• Towing fees
• Vehicle rental
• Labour time and mechanic fees
• Any direct or indirect loss
Important notes
• The installer must check or replace as needed the transmission cooler cooling lines filter and transmission fluid
• No claim will be accepted in the event of transmission overheating lack of fluid contaminated fluid or incorrect pressure
Mandatory installation procedure
For the warranty to be valid all the following steps must be followed
• Identify and correct the cause of failure of the original transmission
• Compare the transmission received with the one being replaced and verify complete compatibility
• Flush or replace the transmission cooler and cooling lines
• Install a new transmission filter and the required gaskets
• Use only the transmission fluid recommended by the manufacturer
• Correctly adjust the cables levers or gear selectors
• Check and correct any leaks before putting into service
• Verify the proper operation of the TCM or PCM control module and perform any required reprogramming
• Check the engine and transmission mounts to avoid any excessive stress
• Perform a complete road test and check gear shifts
• Schedule a mandatory follow-up after one thousand five hundred 1,500 kilometres
• No warranty applies if the transmission is opened modified or disassembled for any reason
• The warranty is void if the vehicle is modified to increase performance including but not limited to any reprogramming mechanical or electronic modification
Procedure in case of a problem after installation
• Contact your Bifco seller immediately with the invoice number
• A Bifco technician will confirm compliance with the installation procedure
